40 or 55? Which is it?

I have the common 5235279 injectors in my car and I've been beating myself in the head as to what their flow rate is. I have been searching everywhere here and on the internet for the answer and it keeps coming up with these two rates. I want to tune my car and in tunerproRT it asks for the injector size. So which is it. 40 lbs per hour or 55 lbs per hour?

Just 55, no decimal needed.

Re: 40 or 55? Which is it?

So in the INJ-MPG injector flow constant column in the tunerproRT I just change the 64.90 to 55.00 and save?

Well I changed it from 64.90 to 55.00 and after I checked it again it changed to 54.57 . Is that the true flow rate of the 55 lb injector?

No, its just the nearest hex decimal equivalent to 55 lb/hr. Don't get too caught up in it. The fuel pressure is likely not exactly at where the injector is rated.

The factory fuel pressure range is 9-13 psi, typically its set around 11 psi stock (I've seen stock TBIs running as little as 8 psi and as much as 16 psi), that means that you are on the high end of the spectrum. I use 11.5 psi as a starting point, since we can't seem to agree on 11 or 12 psi as a baseline for TBI flow ratings.

I check mine regularly with my actron. just to be sure that my fuel pump is straight. you wouldn't happen to know how to delete the CCP do you?

This depends upon whether the CCP system is still intact. If it is not longer present on the vehicle then there isn't anything in the calibration that requires changing. The default cal has the CCP code disabled and the output used as the shift light output.

If the CCP is still intact and you want to disable it for tuning in the VE tables. Then do this:

Find out if the CCP solenoid is NO or NC.

Set the Option Word bit for CCP

Set the Option Word bit for NC or NO soleniod operation

Set the CCP Enable temperature to 150 C

That will do it.

RBob.

Re: 40 or 55? Which is it?

Yes i deleted it along time ago to clean up the engine bay. So without changing anything I shouldn't worry about it then? It's already disabled?

Correct. The stock calibration is defaulted to the shift light on the CCP driver.
