91 Camaro rs chip?
I have a 91 rs it came with the 305tbi 5 speed, i swapped for a 350 30 over 4 bolt main, still has cast iron heads, but a comp cam, hyperputic pistons etc..
hooker comp headers
no cat
anyway i still have the factory tbi set up with the stock computer, i had to street time the motor to get it to drive nice, but i know its far from its potential, i was gonna get a chip from summit designed but i figured there would be cheaper ways around it,
any advice on injecters
or chip
thanks

I believe you will need a knock sensor for a 350 CID. I would use a cop car sensor.
Also I think you need a ESC module from a 350.
Higher fuel pressure and to accomodate that you will most likely benefit from a TPI fuel pump. Add a FP gauge.
You will need a corrected "chip" aka corrected .bin with changes in tune. You could try a cop car chip but it wont be the best idea-tune.
Check out stickies DIY-PROM on this site.

Re: 91 Camaro rs chip?
I would like to get a tune port set up, but i just had a kid and money is tight, i was just trying to get the computer up to speed with the motor, i know i could always get a comp from a 350 gm around the same year but i figure if i am gonna spend some money it should be twords the direction of aftermarket computer systems
btw the car runs and drives great right now, i can just feel it really leans out when you get on it, and runs rich at idle, has new 02's and knock sensors, just wanted to know what other people have done, i would imagine alot of you have done this kind of swap to loose the 305

Re: 91 Camaro rs chip?
what i did was buy the moates g2 adapter and had it sodered to the stock ecm so i could run a flash chip on it and then tuned it using tuner pro, quite a bit cheaper then going ebl and has worked great for me even with the new engine combo

that is the adapter, then you run a zif socket on top so the flash chips can be removed easily. This method requires you to pull the chip and stick it on a burner, burn the tune then retest. Alittle more of a hassle but works none the less
If your not too cocerned with having GM injectors, go to advance auto..you can pick up Borg warner injectors for about 70$ a piece brand new

Re: 91 Camaro rs chip?
Figure out your engine requirements by using this formula ; Fuel requirement in lbs./hr = (Max HP x BSFC) / (number of injectors x duty cycle) BSFC in tbis are typically .5 . Then follow this link
http://users.erols.com/srweiss/calcpchg.htm
and play with the fuel pressure until you get the injector size that you want .
