Re: car stalls alot
huh? Want to try English and complete sentences?

I've never seen a pink or purple sensor!

Changed plugs?
Changed plug wires?
Checked firing order?
Checked for continuity on each plug wire?
Checked for vacuum leaks?
Checked ignition module inside distributor?
Changed dist cap? Rotor?

the firing orders right checked that already. havnt checked the wires but i know the wires r old, and i think they said the sensor was a engine temp sensor its on the passenger side n i think it contect to the engine block

Re: car stalls alot
i had a slight issue like this, never could figure it out but my buddy recently took my car to do some work on it and found that it had a bad tps ( throttle positioning sensor) and i haven't had a problem since.

Re: car stalls alot
pass side there are two - one in the head is the fan switch for the cooling fans - won't have anything to do with the car running. 2nd one is the knock sensor in the block - it senses engine knock and advances timing to delete the knock - wouldn't think a bad one or even not connected would make the car stall. No sensor in the block I would think would cause this. Is the car TBI or TPI? TPI cars do have a temp sensor in the thermostat housing that relays engine temps to the computer - but you said the broken sensor is in the block - where in the block?

Re: car stalls alot
its a tbi and the sensor is on the passenger side about an inch or 3 under the exhaust manifold

Re: car stalls alot
Knock sensor in the block, fan switch in the head - knock sensor easy, fan switch you'll get a face full of coolant, so be careful!

I'd go back and check plugs and wires, rotor and cap, make sure fuel pump is priming and running, check for vacuum leaks after I fixed that broken sensor/switch.
