350 engine swap 91 bird. Can I still use the TBI?

I have a 91 fbird w/a 305 TBI engine. The engine is getting ols so I was thinking about swapping in a 350 from a formula. Would I still be able to bolt the TBI stuff onto the 350 and achieve the same amount of power? Or would it even work at all? If it it would what changes would I need to make to get the TBI stuff to work with the 350. I didn't want to switch to TPI because of the scarcity of good parts and buying new is totally out of my budget. I was also going to swap in an LT1 cam from a vette. I'm told this is doable but would it make much of a difference? Any advice you could give would be much appreciated. Thanks

you can do it. the tbi manifold only goes on centerbolt heads. so as long as the other engine has centerbolts its fine. you do want to change your knock sensor, est module, and PROM chip in the computer. The lt1 cam will deffinately help out the engine. It also wouldnt hurt to throw on some hooker 2055 headers.

I'm going through the same thing now and nearing completion. I went with a crate 383 with Vortec heads and intake. Since the heads don't have an EGR passage, I had to plumb a pipe from the driver side header to the intake. Currently working on things that are in different places on the intake, lengthening and shortening wires in the harness to reach new locations, rerouteing vacuum lines. Already have EBL, so programming ECM should be simpler.

Cool. Are those headers the emissions headers? I'm trying to keep everything basically stock so I don't have to deal with the state inspectors around here. Plus I was told that I would also need to upgrade my injectors and possibly the fuel pump and regulator. As far as the est module, knock sensor and prom, what model should I get those off of? I've been looking at parts from a truck the same year. Think that'll work?

Your fuel pump should be fine. Get the injectors for a 454 tbi (or the whole tbi if you can get it) from ebay. I did this a few years back on an 89 RS.

The Hooker 2055 headers have the A.I.R. tubes attached

HOLY @&!%... That's expensive. However I want to do this right. I'm not looking for gobs of HP so I was looking at these http://www.jegs.com/i/Pace+Setter/766/70-1336/10002/-1

Still not cheap but a little cheaper than the hookers. Thanks for all the help guys. With everything I'm planning I hope to get around 275hp out of this engine. Think that's possible while still keeping it emissions legal?

One other thing I thought of was what kind of torque converter to get for the tranny. This is what I'm looking at http://www.jegs.com/i/B-M/130/70420/...rentProductId=
Think that's good?

Most people dont like BM on here. they fail in a year ive read. those headers are worth every penny the hooker ones...

Ok. I'll keep that in mind. What converter would you recommend?

On this board they are going to recomend you to either a Vigilante. 700 bucks or so. Or Edge converters. I ran a summit brand one for a few months with no problems. its now it a buddies car. But like you said about the headers cost is a problem so that converter will have to do. I did install one of those in a van about 18 months ago and have not heard back from them about it so I guess it is okay.

The B&m torkmaster is a tight converter for use in trucks and vans. Get a TCI Sizzler or what TCI reccomends
