cam recommendation?
Hi there,
I did quite a bit of searching, but didn't really find an answer. I am looking for recommendations for a cam for my combo.
I have a nicely built 355 block, originally a 1969 camaro SS350 block, 2 bolt mains, with thicker webbing. It has speedpro pistons, moly rings and ARP bolts throughout. Pretty stout.
The heads are 1970 Z28 double hump heads, 5-angle seat grind, hardened seats intake and exhaust, and enlarged pushrod holes and guideplates for extra lift.
On top I have an Edelbrock Performer manifold and I am getting an adapter plate to keep the TBI throttle body and EFI system. Out back, a dual cat 1LE type system, with 3" Y-pipe and 3" catback exhaust.
Since I am keeping it TBI, I need a cam that's going to work with the ECM, so I am thinking it may need to be kinda mild, with good lobe separation.
So, what are your thoughts?

Re: cam recommendation?
Cams that work with your ecm without any issue are mainly the "compu-cam" series. Duration @.50 below 220/220 and lift below .470/.470 depending on what your springs cam handle.

Thanks for the input folks. That helps narrow it down a bit. Is there a lobe separation angle I should shoot for? something between 108 and 115 maybe? Correct me if I am wrong, but the smaller the number the more overlap, right?

Most of the compu-cams are 112-116 LSA for computer controlled vehicles. I wouldn't go any lower than 112

Hi there,
It's been a while, but I finally decided on a cam for this engine. I am going with a Lunati Voodoo cam, part number 10120701LK, cam and lifter kit. Here are the specs:

Re: cam recommendation?
Well, the engine is getting ready to go back in... finally! I want to put spark plugs in, while the engine is on the stand. But I don't know which ones to put in! I have a 1969 350 block, 1970 350 heads, and 1988 TBI and ignition going on it. The plugs recommended by Rock Auto for the 1970 heads are AC Delco R43S resistor plugs, but the stock plugs for 1988 were AC Delco R45TS.
does anybody have any recommendations, both for the engine combo, and for the plug manufacturer? I am not married to AC Delco, so anything goes.
Thanks in advance
