Eldelbrock pro flo 14x3 cleaner install questions...
I instaled my cleaner last night, but I'm just wondering what I should do with the little sensor that I had to disconnect. Should I drill a hole in ym air cleaner and mount the sendor in it and hook it up so I dont get anymore check engine lights?

Yes, exactly.
This is your intake air temperature sensor and it should be located within the aircleaner to let the ecm read the temperature of the air entering the engine.

i have the IAT sensor just laying where it isn't touching any parts, just air, and its fine. i unplugged the actual sensor and got a light, so i plugged it back in and no prob at all. as long as it has air around it, there shouldnt be a problem. thats my experience at least

But keep in mind, that the engine's states of operation are controlled by the ecm. The ecm needs input from the various sensors located on the engine.
Depending on the data it gets it determines spark advance, mixture, etc.
Colder air means richer mixture, warmer air means leaner mixture, espacially at part throttle operations.
By not providing the correct temperature of the air when it is entering your engine, you could probably end up with a wrong mixture (too lean or too rich, depending on operating conditions)to a specific condition.
So I decided to drill a hole in my open element air cleaner base and to install the IAT sensor in it.
Just my thoughts.
