Car Craft 325 hp..Cam
Car Craft used this cam with the Vortec heads and it made 325 HP. Comp Cams XE262H-10 "Xtreme Energy" hydraulic flat tappet cam. 218/224 dur @ 0.050, .462/.469 lift, 110 deg LS
Is this cam a good choice, or would it run like crap?
They got HUGE gains by switching to this cam!
Thanks, Matt

well i am thinkin of a flat tappet and switchin to a carb just cause the flat tappets have so many more choices and are so much cheaper. its say 110 for cam and lifters then 70 for pushrods and your set, versus the 250 for a roller cam

sorry, still learning about cams, I figured since it worked so great for them it must be a good cam.
What is the difference between roller and flat tappet cams, I know that roller cams have less friction, but why?

As the name implies, roller setups have rollers on the lifters, and on the rocker arms. They reduce friction like a wheel has less friction than a skid. They last longer, and free up a SMALL amount of power. Flat tapet just act like the skids I mentioned.
Does that clear it up? I am not great at explaining stuff!

if you are planning to keep you 305 and your roller set up a LT4 stock cam is a good choice. or a stock LT1 cam can be had for cheap.
i think if you ditch the tbi you will be sorry, the digital controls are capable of making a more drivable and equal if not greater power than a carb.
