TBI performance Question

As I understand it you can put a Holley 2 barrel TB 670cfm that they sell on a stock system and it is supposed to work. Has anyone done this or heard of it. What kind of gain is to be expected is it worth it. I run Vortec heads and a Bowtie TBI intake with an edelbrock cam and a chip. Is the their TBI a bigger one, are the injectors flow rated and matched? Let me know.:hail:

yes their TBI has bigger bores than stock. 2" vs. stock 1-11/16". I think you'd have to bore that vortec TBI intake, which would be awesome since noone has done it yet. You could also get an adapter from holley to bolt it on but the intake is still the choke point so i don't really see a point in doing that. You can get a used 670 or 454 TBI and put you injector pod on it with better injectors.

I know of a few people on this board using them, I think they have 2" bores, a little bigger than stock. I've been told you don't need em unless you go above 300 hp. I'm sure others will be able to give you more details.

Oops, apparently TAS responded quicker than I did

TBI intake GM

It was about $300-$400. I dont remeber exactly, I will tell ya in a while. It pretty much is the same as the edelbrock except the angle is different on the heads and the egr is in a different place.

do the ports seem much bigger? Is it inbetween a performer and a performer RPM?

They look a little bigger, but the runners look shorter. I will try to attach a picture of it.
