Yeah, I thought that was great until I realized the price was for the pre '87's. Talk about a total let down, I wanted to get a set for my '89 'vert!!!!!

Thanks Ezey Go, I have been trying to find a set for 87 and up but they are back ordered. I finally decided to go with the pre 87 heads and slot my manifold center holes to fit the heads. Good price and I got the last set.

Aren't those setup for both type intakes and both valve cover types?

I think they are set up for both valve covers, but not both intakes.

Anybody know about the bolt pattern thing for sure? I wonder if these heads will come down even lower in the future?

JokerRS,
What was involved with slotting out the center manifold holes?? Was it a long process, pretty simple, or what? Are there any manifold sealing issues when you do this? BTW, how do you like the heads & performance gains??

Thanks!!!!
Derrick

I just ordered the heads on friday so I haven't done any of it yet. It will be awhile before I install the heads when I get them because I plan on doing some port work to them first. I also ordered a ZZ4 camshaft that I will install at the same time. I also bought a G-tec this week that I havn't recieved yet. I plan on G-tecing before and after head/cam swap. It would be neat to break down how much power each added but that would mean two seperate installs and thats just way to much work. I'm hoping that cam, heads, and some porting will add 40 HP. Also thinking about 1.5 full roller rockers.
Here are my current mods.

I guess I didn't answer your question about modifing the intake manifold. I still have my stock manifold and I studied the difference. As far as I can tell all I need to do is slot the center two holes on each side so the bolts can go through at a slightly different angle. Thats the only difference between 86and older, and 87+ manifolds. No sealing isues. I'm sure I'll post when I get all done.
