Help Need Tbi Guy"s Advice

I have the opportunity to trade my Camro for a 1988 GTA with new paint, 350, and leather. My car is equally clean as this car is. The guy wants $5700 for the car. He said he's look at mine for a trade, what deal should I try to make, and should I do it at all???
The GTA is actually slower than my RS, but it is bone stock except for heades, mine is modified a little more.

I was always a little partial to Camaros (not to mention a 92 Heritage ) but I guess it's your car...I wouldn't trade mine for anything...except maybe a brand new 2002 Anniversary SS :hail:

Do you like your car? If so keep it. There are other GTA's. Does he want to trade even?

The deal has been made...He will take 5500 bottom dollar. I have decide not to factor my car into the deal, but I will have to finace the car so I will eventually have to part with my Camaro to pay off the GTA loan. So it's a matter of if I want this GTA more or not. I think I do, but a few little imperfections, plus it being four years older and seamingly slower make it hard to decide. I am approved for the loan, so I will let you all know if I do it. I do not have any expertise in TPI though, mine is all TBI knowledge so I would be starting from scratch. basically if I buy the GTA, I will put mine for sale for 5500 or best offer. It is nice and gets second gear scratch, so it makes it hard, but the TPI and leather are tempting; the car has major potential.

id say get a lt1 and stick it in your car instead of wasting 5500 on another fbody thats even older...you could get a nice crate motor for 3200$ and still have probably 1k left after all the installation fees and everything...i always liked the camaros more than the old birds and TA....i still dont like the birds but damn the new TAs look badass man its up to you but why get an older car? exspecially if its slower just reread your post....whats wrong with that GTA? there is no way a 350 TPI should be slower than a 305 tbi...hmm something fishy there...and are you sure you want leather it sucks when its hot inside the car and when its cold youll slide rigtht out of it

It's slower than your car....so why spend more money on a slower car? If you're looking for a nice setup, do the ramjet 350 swap or an Lt1 stroker. So far the only things that car has over yours is the TPI, leather, and a 350. The TPI is nice for a mild motor, the 350 is always nice except when it's slower than your 305 , and the leather does nothing for me considering $400 and you've got yourself some 4th gen leather seats which are newer and more comfy .
I wouldn't do it just because it's more expensive, more time, slower, and older.

well guys, you forget I have a 350 four bolt main half way done, ready to drop into the TPI car. So the motor isn't the issue here, It's the looks of a freshly painted GTA. I will miss my Camaro if I sell it, but if I have a fully loaded GTA in it's place, I may be okay. Darn you can tell I want it huh? I mean the GTA is almost as fast, but it is stock, like 220hp in '88. My 305 is at least pushing that to hit 90mph in the 1/4 mile. So that would explain the 305 faster.

GTA had a bad plug wire, it was running on 7. Fixed now, it is faster!
