It shouldn't drop that low, though the gauges in our cars are known not to be accurate. I would say as long as all your accessories work fine and light don't dim, then there's nothing to worry about.

for a thirdgen yes.. which isn't a good thing. our alternators are like 105 AMPS, i can make my voltage go down to 9 jsut by turning on the lights and rear defogger, with no a\c on.. imagin how low it gets at night when the windows are fogged with the lights on...
try getting a higher AMP alternator, i don't know where though...
