Not sure how to fix the fans, but a 180* stat won't do much good without a lower fan temp rating. The fans don't come on till about 220* stock.

do what I did when i was having that problem. Wire up a nice little switch directly under your dash on drivers side and run the fan all the time. No problems with cooling anymore for me.

Hey man sounds like the fan switch to me. You could always splice your wire going into the switch and make yourself a fan switch.
Hey Cobrakiller, wouldn't having the fan on all the time eat up some HP?

Extra drain on the alternator, perhaps. What, did you think that electricity was free?

I don't have to leave them on all the time. I have a switch but I do leave them on quite a bit.

Nope, try again. There is extra drag on the motor from the alternator being required to meet the extra load. The alternator is producing power all the time, yes, but the amount is controlled by the internal regulator which varies current output based on the "sense" wire.
It's been proven that DRL's lower fuel mileage--how do you think that happens? And many of them pull less current than one of our fan motors. Just because you can't perceive it doesn't mean it's not there.

Hypertech to the rescue!!
Ok guys ordered myself a Thermo-master chip,a cooling fan switch and 160 deg thermostat from hypertech this morning..that should take care of the cooling problem...plus maybe give the car a little more grunt...anyone out there with a 350 z using the thermo-master? any diff in the seat of pants? just curious...later guys will tell you how it feels...hope it does the trick..gary
