Hey guys, I did a search and I see the RPO code for this is "B4C"


My friend is looking into buying a 92 RS Police Package Camaro with a 350 TPI.

The guy says its all stock besides Shift kit, Vette servo, and exhaust. He said last week it ran a 13.8 @ sumthin.


I just wanted to know if anyone has any other info to add? Maybe stuff to look for. Man ive been out of the car shopping scene too long

 

B4Cs are normally nice cars; the police maintain them pretty well, even though they are occasionally beat on. Obviously to make sure it's a real B4C look for where the sirens, radios and guns were mounted, unless that stuff has been repaired. The car should have a higher output alternator than non police cars, and probably has z28 suspension. I think every B4C I've seen has been white. Without some good headers I wouldn't believe that 13.8, ask to see a timeslip.

 

It’s the same thing as a 1le with air conditioning. I have heard the some of the earlier B4C did not get the big 1le brakes on them.

Check on the History/Restoration board. And do a search, should come up with some pics and good info.

 

Not all B4C came with the 1LE.. very early 1991's didn't get that ption. Also, not all came in white, I have seen black, green, purple, and mine hapens to be that stupid teal color, but its starting to grow on me. To know for for sure you need to ckeck the RPOs. If there are no RPO's check the vin engine code, sway bar size, speedometer, and if it has 4 wheel disc brakes... There are some other things, but I can't remeber them all right now.

 

Good find! I ran a 13.81 @ 98.86mph with a ported plenum, intake and runners, iced plenum, alum driveshaft on a basically stock L98 in my 89 RS. I did have some good suspension mods.
13.8 is a little high for a stock 1LE but pretty close.

13.8 is a little high? You mean quick, right? 99mph on a basically stock L98 is a freak.
