I broke one of the oil pan bolts off in the block . It was the second one small one from the back on the drivers side. I can't drill it out, is it that big of a deal? do you think the pan will leak? This has been a long day.

thanks

Jim

if its in the corner of the pan then yeah i say it will definitely leak. in the middle of the pan along the side u might be able to get away with. i would just tap it out if i were u.

DO you have any easy outs. YOu drill out the middle, then insert this reverse thread type bit and as you tighten it it brings out your bolt. Any part store should carry them.

The oil pan is not the easiest thing to remove, and after gettting the engine back in the car and most everything back together I don't want to take it out again. If chances are that it's not going to leak then I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks

does your oil pan have the metal rails ( don't know real name) that distribute the clamping force and protect the bolt holes? if not get one and put it on, that'll halp secure the pan to the block.
