Question for the pros- electrical -PICS
Ok this problem started last night. I have no idea what caused it. With the headlights off everything is normal, as seen in this picture. When I turn the headlights on I lose my volts gauge and my temp gauge. Along with the following problems my high beam indicator light comes on and my turn signal indicator lights come on and stay on, as seen in this picture. If I open the door with the headlights on everything stays the same, but if I open the door and manually turn on the interior dome light with the **** the problem goes away, as seen in this picture. I am thinking that it is a bad ground somewhere. Also everything on the exterior of the car works fine, I have no problems with the low beams or high beams and no problems with the turn signals or brake lights. Also something else that should be noted I have tried disconnecting the battery, and have checked many fuses. I did find the wire in this this post last night it was disconnected, I grounded it and the problem remains.
Please help I am stumped.

UPDATE:
I started the car up to go to work this mouring(6am) turn on the headlights and the problem is still there. Also since its dark I notice that the gauges are not lighting up properly, and that my radar detector will not come on, so the cigarette lighter isnt getting power. Well i am accelerating to get on the freeway pulling about 3500 rpms in third gear and the problem goes away for a second then reappears for a second then goes away. The problem was gone. The radar detector worked and the dash lighted up properly. When I left work the problem didnt return, so this is good right! I have a massive charging problem now though, w/o any major accesories on at idle I only have like 10.5 volts, and at 3000 rpms 13 volts. Turn the headlights on at idle and I only have 8 or 9 volts, at 3000 rpms about 11. The battery is new as well as the alternator, although later today i am going to have them both checked.

I don't know about everybody else, but the links aren't working for me.

I had a similar problem with my '89 Suburban. Turned out is was the small ground wire from the Bat. to the body. It was corroded forcing all the body circuits to ground through the block.

This sounds very familiar
I'm not sure about the 92's but I have an 84Z and had a very similar problem.
Check to see if there is a printed circuit board on the back of the gauge cluster.
That was my problem. The only difference is I also lost my tach and my oil gauge.
Check in electronics under "tach jumps with turn signal" by canadian beast.
Again, sounds to me like it's a short in the printed circuit board behind the gauge cluster.
