alternate crankshafts

what crankshafts will fit into a 350 with minimal fitting? specifically something with a shorter stroke. Just brainstorming here. Thanks

if you go shorter they'll all fit with no extra work, clearancing or problems. why would you want to do something like that? as rb says you'd be spending you time and money on bullets to shoot yourself i nthe foot with.

If you have the newer one piece rear main, you'll want to have the one used in the small V8 they put in the Caprices in the mid-90s. believe that's a 3.25 inch stroke but whatever it is, you can use that to make a 302. What are you thinking of building?

I was thinking of building a turbo or super engine with a stealth ram or mini ram intake. there was a discussion on the power adder board of how ci doesn't help for overall horsepower with a blower application, just low end torque. with a shorter stroke engine, I'd be able to get better top-end power and higher max rpm.

A 350's 4.00" bore and a 3.25" stroke make 327 cid not 302 cid. A 302 would have a 3.00" stroke.

i believe reguardless of application, power adder or NA more inches make more power, all else being equal.
