Pulled a 16.5, need help
I have 0 traction issues since my car cant even powerbrake or burnout for that matter unless i take a corner way to fast and punch it.
I have a 1982 Z28 CFI.
I am converting to carb, a 600 holley, an edelbrock performer rpm gap intake manifold, hei dist, mechanical fuel pump, and a summit cam with 1.5 roller rockers, bumping timing also.
I am not doing exhaust at this point in time, but will be in a month or so when funds provide.
What times do you think I will achieve with this setup. With exhaust and a decent launch i expect high 14s pretty easily, without exhaust i expect very low 15s, what do you guys think.
I am sure several people have had close if not the exact combo, and what did you guys pull, thanks for your help.

16.5 is about right for that motor in stock trim.
Do you plan on headers and exhaust? If not, the rest of it won't do any good... can't jam more in if the old stuff can't get out. Get some kind of chassis-specific headers for some other car, along with a cat & cat-back. I'd suggest either getting them for a L69 (HO) car, or a 350 TPI, like about 88 or 89.
With the stock heads and that combo, you should get yourself down to high 14s I would think, I'd expect 14.8 or so.
The car needs heads and gears. With the right cam and gears, and those heads ported for all they're worth, you should be able to get to very low 14s.
