Major Porblem with my 89'TA
My fuel pump died on me a couple of months ago. I had a garage replace the pump. When I picked her up, I let her idle for about 15 minutes. Then I drove her about 45 km when she started to chug. Its like the car is not getting enough gas, or too much gas. There is a Charcoal canister at the front for filtering vapours, it was spewing gas from one of the 5/8" tubes coming out of the canister. I put a clamp on the tube, it does not leak anymore, but the car still chugs. I can let it idle for at least 30 minutes. As soon as I try and drive it begins to chug.
Any ideas??
Thanks

sounds like the tank is not venting..DO NOT CLAMP THE LINE...This may be the vent line. It has to stay open..take it back to the shop that fixed it, they did something wrong when they reconnected the lines....
It may be a bad fuel injector. I had a similar problem. The car would bog like no gas getting in. Happened when car would run for 5 or 10 minutes. Finally in 4 weeks the car would not start anymore after stalling out half way home frome the track. When I went to get it towed 8 hours latter in the cold dark air it started no problem. It ended up being a shorted fuel injector. I have an 89 formula 350 with 115,000 miles. Since getting injectors last November I have spent $5000.00 on replacing parts and bolt-on mods. The thing has 280 hp with 229 rwhp. What an expensive hobby.

Hey, Thanks for the input guys. I called the garage and asked what they thought, they said they doubt it, but the fuel lines could be mixed up. Im thinking thats what it is. My other thought on this, is that if they mixed up the vapour return line form the charcoal canister, and the feed line, then that means the injectors are being fed thru the charcoal canister, right?? If so, when you apply gas, wouldn't it suck up some of the charcoal with the gas thru the injectors?? This would cause it to bog, would it not??
