Yes, it can be put in, and would be a killer combo.

But it's not an easy process with all the wiring, I'm not sure how much a shop would charge, my guess would be around $1k.

Oh yeah, I'd be surprised if that goes for under $6k, just a guess though, I haven't really priced those before.

LS1 swap is alot of work. Check the engine swap board. There is a sticky message at the top with links to people who have done it.

If you have a shop do it expect to pay them $10-15,000 to do it. inlcuding engine.

Including the price of engine and trans - YES!

This isn't a direct swap and isn't something that would take a weekend.

yeah, i say $1000 for labor is a long shot...............this is custom work......most garages charge about $90 an hour labor (the one i work in charges $80.....go figure).......so go by that........you'd be better off investing $$$ in good tools and having at it yourself

used LS1 $3000
used T56 $1500
clutch $700

it only gets worse from here...............

thats over $5000 already and thats no where near all the parts needed

custom exhaust will need to be fabricated

motor mounts

$$$$$$

uuh yeah what he said. Or you could do the lt1 swap for much much less money im sure.

The lt1 swap requires alot less fabricating and you can even use your current tranny (assuming you have a v8 car)...from what ive been told the hardest thing is the wiring. with my plan i wont have to worry about it and i should make enough money off the lt1 intake on ebay to buy a dist, carb, and intake (maybe). Ive seen alot of TPI setups go for 500$ so i figure a lt1 FI will go for at least 600$ or so.
