When you calculate displacement.......

do you guys use piston diameter or cylinder diameter to determine bore size??? Or should it not make a difference?

...since the piston diameter is slightly smaller, but the rings also move with the piston, effectively becoming part of the overall displacement. When calculating compression ratio, you therefore also have to consider the depth of the top ring and the volume around the piston at that point.
