Oh no! Guys help me and quick, QUICK REPLY'S!

Ok here's the problem, My dad has an 89 Dodge Shadow with a non turbo 2.2 4 cyl, It's automatic. I took the car in the garage to change the front tires, After I was done, I put the car in reverse, It went into gear and wouldn't move!!!!! I put it in neutral, I can't push it!! I put it in drive and it wouldn't move there either!!!!!!!!!!!! It goes into gear and there is nothing in front of or in back of the car, It worked fine b4 I took it into the garage to change the tires. What's going on here?? There's no grinding or nothing, The car just won't budge. QUICK REPLYS

Make sure the e-brake isn't on. It's an easy mistake to make.

BS = backspacing. Did you switch the fronts to the rear, and the rears to the front?

Or, since we all know the Dogge FWD cars have such a FINE braking system, is one of the rotors not seated squarely against the drive hub flange? That would effectively lock a front wheel just like having the wrong backspacing and binding.

That happened to me once at one shop. The car was drivable but the steering arms reamed out a bunch of aluminum from the inside of my rims and got pushed all out of whack. Took about a full day of work to un-do the damage that was done in a few minutes. No cost to me fortunately.

(It's a joke. Hang around the street racing board for a bit, or do a search on him, and you'll know what I mean. )

I was just kidding. Did you have a shop mount tires on new rims or are you putting the tires on the rims yourself?

Camaro 86,

Well, not really. There was only one response that might have even been marginal, and it wasn't really a "flame".

You had a lot of good responses that were right on the money. We're glad you found the problem and there was no major damage. The offsets of the 16" ThirdGen wheels have a similar shift from front to rear, so it isn't uncommon, and I'll bet a lot of the people here have done the same thing.

FWIW, I had the same thing happen with aftermarket wheels on a Fiero, except on the rear. They have some "exceptional" brakes as well, so any damage could really only be an improvement.

Mark/U-Train/Fyre,

Cut the guy a little slack, please. I see what you mean by the posts on other boards, but he's following the rules as far as I can see, and it's a completely legitimate post on this board.

Thanks. Once we get to know him a little better, then we'll start jerking his chain a little. By then he'll know we're only just kidding and it's all in good fun.
