Well, I'm doing my T5 swap soon but I still don't know what to use to cut the hole in the trans tunnel. I have a 3" cutting disc but that will spark too much so I can't use that. Someone suggested a sawzall.....and I know a few people with one.
So what have you guys used and/or what do you suggest???

i drilled holes at each corner of my hole then did the cutting with a sharp pair of tin snips. Some people told me this was nearly impossible but i had no trouble

Mark the edges of the hole of where you need to cut with a sharpie, and drill a hole to get started. Then use a jigsaw to cut along the edges.

jig saw with a metal blade or a sawsall with metal blade, nibbler if you have one, air chisel, but not very precise.

I used an air chesel (nibbler). and it made very quick work of it all.. I got my lines pretty straight, but i figure that no one is going to see your hole anyways that its doesn't matter how perfect it is. but if u can get one, i would recomend it. i didn't try a sawsall, but i did use a jig saw and it didn't cut very well in that position..

I used a sawzall; they aint kidding when they call it a SAWS ALL.
I had the hole cut in about 2 minutes flat. The only problem I had with it was going around the corners, I had to use a thinner blade.
