Roller Rocker help..!!!

I'm about to do some ordering, but I'm undecided on which rockers to get.

At first I was going to get the Comp Magnum Steel roller tip rockers for $140 or so, but isn't the roller tip not that great? CCA 1416-16

There is also some Crane roller rockers for $190 CRN 11746-16

Summit also has an aluminum brand made out of T6 aluminum, supposedly stronger... But I know most on here say aluminum for the street is a no no, does that pertain to these as well for $160 SUM G6906

Which should I get, I'm tryin to not spend a fortune, but if the Crane's are that much better for another $50, then I guess I'll get them.

Thanks.

Anything you get from crane will be better than the stock pieces, even the roller tipped ones are way better. The construction is like that of an actual precision movable part, rather than a formed piece of sheet metal. I was on a budget and bought the roller tipped ones. If you want to spend the exta 50 bucks on full rollers, go ahead. I wouldn't go with the aluminum ones. CrMo>>>>>>aluminum.

OK, so the summit ones are out, would the extra $50 for full roller ones over just tips be worth it?

I see in Summit, that the Comp RTs might have a rail on them, meaning they're SA right? then I wouldn't need new pushrds, thus saving me $80.

I've heard Crane sells some 1.7s, anyone know how much these are?

I wouldn't bother with anything aluminum. I had a set of Crane Gold roller rockers and they lunched themselves in less that 10k miles.

I now have a set of the Comp rollers that everyone here seem to have good luck with. I haven't run them yet but I don't want to go thru the same **** I did with the Cranes....unless you like finding metal shavings in your engine.

Comp makes 1.7 ratio rockers for the SBC. They only offer them in the stainles steel and they run close to $400.

The Crane Blazer roller rockers work very well.
If you want a alumium roller rocker that will outlive you,
get a set of Scorpion Rockers. If you want to get high ratio rockers just be sure that your valve springs can handle the higher lift. You can't use self aligning rockers with pushrod guide plates. It's one or the other. not both.

Here's some beauti rockers you can checkout

Here are the Crane Blue Racer "Blazer" roller rocker

PN# WG-3060 3/8 stud 1.5:1
Not the same beast as the Crane Energizer rocker.

Hey! I've got a set of those unused (new) and for sale if you're interested. I opened everything, and trial fitted 2 rockers and found the pushrods hit the heads, so I never installed them. I decided to go with the Pro Mags instead. My loss, your gain - $150.
