Pushing my car up the driveway...
My '89 IROC in the sig has been unable to drive since May and I'm getting sick of looking like a ******* with a Camaro on jackstands on the driveway, so I'm going to move it into my garage so that I can work on it after dark.
Problem is, I've got to push it up a somewhat steep driveway--at least, too steep for me and my dad to push a car up it. So what I'd like to do is take the '88 Camaro in my signature, put a few towels on the nose of the IROC, and push the IROC up the driveway with my '88 Camaro. I know that it will work great for a smaller incline (because I just did it today), but I don't want to push it too much.
Has anyone done anything like this before? I don't know how much support is behind the front of these cars, and I'd sure hate to "dimple" one or both of my cars doing this if there's barely anything to support the plastic.
Thanks!

Could you hook up a rope and a pulley instead? Tie it to the sway bars? I seriously would never push anything with the nose of my car, it's just for show. I can bend the thing with my hands.

I figured somebody was going to say that.
I haven't actually tried pushing it back up yet (it's in the garage right now, it just needs to be "rotated" 180 degrees)--we might be able to do it if we get some momentum going. I just want to know if I can use my "plan" for backup if it ends up being too steep (most of the driveway is fine, it's just the first "hump" that's really going to be tough).
I'll see what we can do...

Well I just got it up the driveway today--I ended taking rezinn's suggestion and using a chain. I had my two Camaros back to back and I just tied the chain around the middles of both rearends. I pulled out into my street, made a big loop around the cul-de-sac, and lugged that thing up my driveway. Luckily, I probably live on the only house on my street that I could have got away with that in (because of where it's located on the cul-de-sac).
I also figured out why it is so hard to push. First off, I rebuilt the front-end a while back, and since it hasn't been on the road for a while, I never was able to take it to get it aligned. Consequently, the front tires not parallel (visibly) and that causes them to "drag" sideways ever-so-slightly (it's probably not even drivable like that). Secondly, for some reason the rear is a lot tighter than I remember it--I had it on stands and in neutral, I really had to fight the tires just to get it to move. I have no idea why that might be--I just hope the rearend didn't "crap out" on me (no pun intended).
Anyway, thanks for the help.

i've had the same problem since my driveway is on an incline. my garage has a regular door in the side of it and i have a big tree in the back yard so what i do is tie a rope around the tree, run it through the side door in the garage and then put a come-along on the end which can then hook to the car in the driveway and i can pull it up. works like a charm.
