Still will not start

First off car is bone stock, except for exhaust.
89 Firebird Formula, w/tpi, and 160,000miles, shift kit

Well the car was running fine, i drove it 400 hundred miles, and then it sat for 2 weeks, tried to start is and it will not barely idle, and when i put it in gear it just stalls. It was running well then it sat now its dead.

I have spark, fuel, my compression was around 100(did not test all cylinders), no engine codes had it scanned,

so now i am lost just got the car 4-5 months ago, and not sure what to troubleshoot first, changed the O2, and mass air,

the book said allot about the EGR valve but I can't see it making that big of a problem. the car will barely run?

Please help anyone THanks start

Ahhh...

I would pop off the throttle body (15 minutes) and hit it with carb cleaner. Pull off the IAC, and see how much carbon is at the tip of the pintle. Be careful when cleaning it. Reset the pintle, by pushing in with your thumb. The computer will reset it once it is reinstalled and you've driven it a bit. You may be surprised on how much carbon is in there, especially if you have leaky valve guides. If that doesnt work, make sure your within your timing specs.

yes, an egr would certainly cause this. To me it sounds like it's dumping too much exhaust into the engine.

you can pull the egr valve off and make a block off plate for over the hole, your check engine light will come on though

pull the vac line off the egr valve and plug it, the tap on the side of the valve,l see if it runs any better, if not , pull the valve off and see if it is stuck open
