Towing Question

When towing an F-body with an automatic transmission on a tow dolly (front wheels on dolly, rear wheels on ground) I assume I will have to remove the driveshaft in order to prevent damage to the tranny. This is a long haul across the country, so I want to do it right. Opinions please.

That's what I figured. Now I just have to figure out what to plug the end of the tranny with. Anyone sell a fake plastic yoke I can shove in there?

I'd leave the driveshaft in the transmission. Disconnect it at the rear u-joint, then use a large plastic tie or bungee cord to lash it to the torque arm.

That's an option too. I'm just a little hesitant since it's a 2800 mile trip and I'm afraid of it coming loose and falling down.

Duct tape! Now why didn't I think of that. That's how I'll do it.
