Will a Performer Rpm intake Fit?
Can you use a stock q-jet with a performer RPM intake manifold? Will it fit under the stock hood of an camaro?
Thanks

I think the Qjets are spreadbore and need a spreadbore type manifold. You could get the spreadbore manifold or an adapter from spreadbore to squareflange but that would increase the height. I have a RPM manifold and 1406 performer carb and it all fits under the hood of my TA. I doubt it would with an adapter though. Maybe someone can varify this for me because its been a while since I've worked with Qjets.

hey ive got the performer and i have no clearance problems with a 1inch spacer and a 14X3 air filter.
Search would have definitely got you the answer. Anyways, you need 1407, Performer RPM Q-jet (which is a spreadbore version), with a 1.5" drop base 3" air cleaner. Edelbrock sells those too.

So there is no way to get a performer rpm to fit with a stock q-jet unless you have an adaptor plate, But then it would be 1.4" higher then the stock setup and wouldn't fit under the hood. Is there any one who was tried this? I just really want to be sure there is no hope.

Well, let's see, given my post, I could have just been pointing out that, with the search function enabled, he wouldn't have had to ask. Of course, I wasn't. My mistake. However, the fact is that I found three different topics in which he could have found his answer in the first five pages of the board.
Shooting off questions before you look is generally considered bad forum etiquette. I know that this isn't the most formal forum, however, I would imagine that at least a part of the difficulties with the search engine is the amount of useless posts that are thrown on here every day. Furthermore, if there weren't so many useless points, those topics that he could have used would still be on the front page, rather than being repeated again and again.
Sorry if you took my tone to be overly aggressive... Despite my mistaken correction, I wasn't rude and I gave him the response that he needed. Sure doesn't seem TOO terribly bad to me. Whatever. "You got me" My apologies to Z28 Redline.

"Its still not your job to tell people they need to search."
Why not? I made a mistake this time and apologized, but if I can use the search feature, not bog down board resources, and keep valuable threads on the front page, why can't everyone else?
"You've got 90 something posts so I really doubt you understand our board etiquette"
Actually, I'd say that my low post count is a good indication of my understanding of "board etiquette". One, I clearly know how to use the search function - I'm on this board, finding information every day and I have less than a hundred posts. I've seen people that have been here for less time than me with over 400... What's better? Depends on the poster, I guess.
"I'm not sure what 3 topics you speak of. I haven't seen a topic on spreadbore manifolds in a while."
There's one post that mentions spreadbore manifolds and three that mention fitting a Performer RPM under a stock hood.
"I didn't "get you". Not sure why you think this is a game."
"Guess If you could read then you would have known this."
That's not a flame?
Once again, I was conservative in my criticism and now I've apologized.
Edit: Just wanted to point out that when I started using boards, I was criticized for not using the search function. I wasn't offended, as it was mentioned in the proper manner... In the long run, I have not doubt that the person who corrected me the first time (it wasn't a moderator, and it definitely wasn't here), was absolutely correct.

I'm done. This has already gone too far and taken too much "space" up. Sorry Z28, hope you got your question answered.

Whatever... I would have done a search if it was up but it wasn't. I looked through the first couple pages of the board and I couldn't find anything that answered exactly what I wanted to know. I seem to get told to search almost every time I post, even when I research the topic first. No worries though, next time I will go somewhere else to ask a question. Sorry for clogging up your board.
