i was thinkin of gettin GM perfomance parts HO 350 with the iron vortec heads....then gettin edelbrock performer RPM vortec intake, 600 cfm performer carb, hedman shorty headers and y-pipe, flomaster 80 series...i would still be runnin the T-5 and the 3.23 gear......i know the catalog says 300 HP but how much do u think i would make and what kinda 1/4 times?

Considerably less than if you used the right carb, which would be about a 750.

Also, you'd need to ditch the lame cam in there, and put in a Comp XE268.

Given those changes your HP should be in the mid-high 300s, 360-375.

yeah i wasnt to sure about the carb..specs on the cam are

.435'' Int. / .460'' Exh., Duration @ .050: 212° Int. / 222° Exh

yeah 750 sounds fine...i want to see what it does with this cam first tho...also whatever's in the sig will be included also, which i know isnt much cept the SFC's

You still need more cam than that, a friend of mine is running 488 lift in a 305 you should have something like that in a 350. Yeah you should have about 375 or something like that.
P.S. your trans is going to explode, if you don't get it rebuilt.
The T-5 is a peice of junk.

there a few variables but youll get 350+ you need more cam in it to...a bigger cam then some head work and youll be close to 400 horse

as for t-5's being junk...i agree that the case is a POS but the internals are identical as the mustang t-5...theres a guy on this board..his name is tim burgess...he has a basement 12 sec 305 tpi t-5...he launches his car at 6000 off the limiter on nitrous with drag radials...on his STOCK t-5...he pulls 1.5x 60 ft's...

hes playin russian roulette obviously, but it shows that u can beat on it quite hard and itll take it...he took out he t-5 not because he broke it but because after 160,000 miles he has to replace the Original synchros...

(edit) and a rebuild wont make it stronger

i believe that's supposed to be 330 stock. i've installed one of these and stock it's a damn good set up. i recomend you install it with the parts you mentioned and see how you like that first. should go really well. remember, the heads are limited to cam lift. if you went bigger, you could try an L82 cam.
