Just a guess, in a 3rd-gen camaro I would say low 14s at 97 to 100 mph. With suspension and good tires maybe high 13s. That's just a guess.

Well i was looking to get in the low 13s with one. Is this possible jsut stock. and if not what good cams would go better and maybe bbost up the horse power a bit. Aos how would a stock zz4 in a third gen like mine fair up against an ls1 equiiped camaro/vette

You won't get low13s out of a setup where the carb is too small by as much as that one is, and where you've downgraded the intake by taking off the ZZ4 one and putting on a basically stock one (Performer).

A properly set up ZZ4 as it comes, with a Holley 750, is good for about 345 HP, before accessories and stuff like that. I'd say your mods will trim about 25-30 HP off of that, and you'll lose another 20 or so from a water pump, alternator, air cleaner, etc. Since you're talking about "dual exhaust", your weight will go up but your power won't. In a typical one of these cars at 3500 lbs, that 300ish HP should put you at about 14.3-14.4, give or take a few.

The LS1 output has varied some over the years, but just for a nice ballpark average, let's call it 380 HP, after accessories and other chassis installation losses. You won't be in the same ballpark. You will get slaughtered. A stock ZZ4 would do somewhat better but still far short of a real contest.

That's strange...

Mike Davis bolted in a bone stock ZZ4 into his TPI car, which everyone claims STRANGLES the ZZ4 on HP.... he didn't even add headers... just matched the ports on the exhaust manifolds to the D-ports on the ZZ4 heads. Hmmm...stock TPI too.....he ran mid 13's....

Traction and chassis setup and TUNE is the biggest variable. You can take 10 3rd gen's, install 10 ZZ4's, and you'll have 10 different ET's because of the differences in the cars setup, chassis wear / setup etc......

The 600cfm is a bit small...sell the Performer and use the ZZ4 intake....it's alot better.

With some traction and careful tuning, I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to break solidly into the 13's.

In fact, the GM Camaro mule, that was setup to swap in the ZZ4 and remain SMOG LEGAL, it ran 13.80's with exhaust manifolds, and the computer controlled Q-Jet.

The best time I've seen a ZZ4 go in a 3rd Gen in relatively stock form was 13.7. That was with a 750 CFM carb, 1 5/8" headers and 3" I pipe. So I'm assuming mid 13's are possible out of the ZZ4 with the right setup (suspension/exhausT).

Hmmm.......check Mike Davis site

13.61 @ 99mph with a STOCK TPI and ported exhaust manifolds.....

TPI outrunning a carbed car? Egads......Imagine that......

What was the car weight? What had he done for traction and maybe a converter?

There's more to track times than HP.

What would it take for a ZZ4 to run mid 12's on street tires. Didn't they sell an upgraded ZZ4 that had more horsepower at one time?

zz4 with them mods set up properly would be good for mid 13's. the zz4 only has had one hp rating.
