The same place you would hook it up on any HEI ignition...jumper into the tach output wire on the cap connector...has a green wire coming from it.

Yea I couldn't find a green wire either but I found a brown one.
One problem tho- how can I connect the tach to the wire without having to pierce/cut the insulation? My tach's got the old alligator-type connectors on it. Is there a metal extension I can buy that I can put inline with the brown wire to the distributor/coil cap connection and be able to tap off of that?

Here's an idea (assuming its coil in cap)
Take the cover off, you will see where the wire was hooked up to. Its one of the 2 main leads from the coil. Hook your wire to it up there, solder it in place or something, or if its temporary, you could just leave the cover off and use an alligator clip on it.

Max- excellent idea!! I'm planning on replacing the cap anyway (has ~50K miles on it) so I'll add a wire to the new one before I install it. And yes, it's the built-in coil type.
Thanks!
