Thanks!! Brakes now work!

I tried what Engineboy suggested, and replaced both rubber brake lines up front. They were a serious PITA to replace, but well worth it! Front and rear brakes now work great. Of course, I also needed to replace the master cylinder also, because the piston inside jammed due to corrosion. First time I could at least gun the car in the driveway and feel confident that I wouldn't crash through the back of my garage!! The car seems to have plenty of power becase I can let out on the clutch, then gun it, and it will spin tires and kick the rear sideways!! Of course this could be a bad thing also from a 1/4 mile standpoint. I've read some posts about people putting ATF in there 5-speeds, and I'm running 80w-90 in mine because that's what my book said. So now I wonder if I put the wrong stuff in. Is gaer lube the correct lube for a '83 T-5?? It seems to operate smoothly. Thanks again for everyone's help!!

You say the book called for 80w90? ATF is the only factory recommended lube for a T-5 that I've heard of. I run Red Line MTL in mine because ATF is just a little too thin. Don't know what the long term effects of 80w90 would be.
