Just wondering if anyone knew where i could order a complete 90-92 dash. the center console and everything (is it needed?). i might be buying a sorta messed up 85 Z28 from someone for a few hundred, and want to upgrade the current dash to a 90-92. I considered leaving it there and just buying some autometer guages to replace them, but i dont really like the design of there speedos and really like the look of 90-92 dash. im sure your all familiar with what 90-92 dashs look like, but im sure youll see what i mean from these pics.

Oh yeah, and this would even include the steering column. I hope you guys can help, do you think nextgenparts would have it? or order it directly from GM?

I would stay away from Nextgen or GM. If you do find the parts...and I'm pretty sure Nextgen has some of them....it would be way too expensive. Keep browsing through the archives and you should stumble across some links to sites with what you are looking for at better prices.

This isn't going to be just a simple plug&play swap... you need to do some research on replacing a mechanical speedometer with an electronic one first. The 85 Camaro used a mechanical speedometer and IIRC they went to using the electronic speedo in 89 or 90 (the Firebirds went electronic in 86). There is an article in the tech section about performing this swap for a Firebird, (I will be doing that exact swap in the near future), but it shouldn't be too different from doing the same swap with a Camaro.

Pukka: yeah, i went to a GM site and they want 25% OVER retail.

Kevin: I could imagine it wouldnt be plug and play, although it has been done. Im thinking that i should order the dash (if i can find it) and then work out the bugs on the way.
