Will these slicks fit?

I bought a used set of slicks for $25. I found an 85 Z in the junkyard with a good set of Z wheels. Before I buy them will the slicks fit? Number on the slicks is 26.5/9.0/15. The rims on the Z look stock, but I don't know if they are 15's or 16's.

Well are stock 85 Z wheels 16" or 15"? I thought they only made 15" back then. Someone should know that. I'm just worried about the width.

If you have 15" wheels , YES, the tires fit.

1985 the wheel dim. was 15" x 7". 16" x 8" was a IROC and SCCA Showroom Stock ( 1LE) option.

Yes they will fit. I am running the BFG radial T/A with 17" rims. the specs on those are 11" width and 25.7in high. So another .8in higher shouldnt make that much of a difference. Why not measure the height of the tires on your car now. The main issue is the backspacing on the rim. That will judge how far in and out the tire is.

he is asking how big the wheels are not if the slicks are going to fit on his car but whether they will fit on the wheels that he found. maybe you guys should slow down and read the question before you jump to criticize someone.

he found some STOCK WHEELS from an 85' z28. those wheels are 15x7. yes, those slicks will be fine on those wheels, however, if you go any bigger (tire wise) get some wider wheels. i will be running a 28x11.5 on some 8" wide wheels and i know that they will work fine.

Some of you guys are a bunch of idiots. Thank you for those who actually read my post correctly. Now that I know the "STOCK Z WHEELS" will fit the slicks that I bought, I will go to the junk yard, bring a jack with me and remove the STOCK WHEELS from the 85 Z to fit the slicks that I bought.

Just a little tip... this is not a good way to get help through thirdgen. I see that you have only been a member since dec 2002, and bashing on people that went out of their way to help you- even if they didnt read your real question is not a way to get help or answers to your problems. No matter what, people took their time out to reply to your post in an effort to help you. Take this into consideration before making comments like that.

My appologies, sometimes reading words instead of speaking with voice can misinterpret the meaning of a conversation. But just reading some people's input made me look like I didn't know what I was talking about (riceboys).
