What would cause the steering wheel to hop????????
I had a new front suspension kit put on not too long ago(a PST set up). Well now when I hit about 60 or so the wheel starts to hop up and down. What would cause this. If I keep my hand on it IO can feel the vibrations, but it won't move. If I let go of it it starts hoping like maybe 1/2"-1" in each direction up and down. Any thoughts on this? Oh yea and its not loose at all I can't just set and shake it.

Thats really bad. Can you move the wheel at all when the car is sitting still? I would think that the mounts or tilt column have come loose, but usually you can tell its always loose. I haven't had the column out of one, but I think there are a pair of bolts going up that help hold the column in. If those were to come loose it could move up and down.

Is the shaking increasing with speed?
Bad radial, bent rim, or unbalanced wheel.
I purchased rod ends from PST years ago. They had a bleed screw on the ends. I replaced the screws with set screws, because the heads of the bleed screws would scrape the rim, and remove any stick on weights placed near the inside lip the rim.
Over bumps?
Could just be your the input from the bushings, that you are not accustomed to. Are a bad centerlink, rod ends, or ball joint.

Well I dont thin it would be anything on the front suspension. Might be a unbalanced wheel. I dunno. I bought the complete set up from PST so I doubt it would be any of the new parts. Thanks for your help I will check it out this evening.

Does it also shake when you brake? My rotors were warped and it shook at 70 mph and when I would brake. Try your rotors.

There are 3 bolts that bolt the steering column to the firewall. If they are loose or not installed the wheel can hop around but you won't be able to move it just wiggling it from the driver's seat unless you really lay into it. There are also 2 bolts holding it to the dash support but if they were loose it would be obvious and you could move the wheel around easily from the driver's seat. Not for sure this is your problem but it's what casued a similar situation on my 91 Camaro.
