Andy,

I'm afraid I don't know a lot about the World Trade Federation, but I'll give your electrical system a try. How long does it take before the battery is drained? Minute? Hours?

it seems to me that the spark for the plugs is only coming form the battery... so it will idle for a while( no idea how long) but when driving i can only go for about 5-10 mins. then the batt is done for.

My guess is that the alternator is not charging. Are you sure the alternaor is good? Is the alternator getting excitation current? Is is well grounded?

A quick check with a voltmeter at the output stud should reveal a lot.

Another possibility. When I bought my IROC, 305 TPI, 2 of the three fusible links by the starter were fried. One of them is a feedback to the regulator in the alternator, telling it how much voltage is at the battery. If the link is blown, most likely one of two things happen. The alternator constantly puts out full power, like 18 volts, or nothing at all. Try checking the fusible link. On my IROC, its on a red wire that runs from the alternator to the "B" terminal of the starter.

i think i remember what i did i was taken off my valve cover on the alt side and it hit the termanal and sparked a few times, i think that is how i fried somthen.

Heh, now you know why the instructions to almost any automotive work begin with disconnect the battery First question, Little white things? that description doesn't fit my fusible links are you sure you're looking at the right thing. Seriously though, get an ohmmeter and check your wires for resistance, just because the alt is working, doesnt' mean the power is getting where it is supposed to be going. If that's fine, check for a grounded circuit somewhere, if the battery isn't draining while car is off, it may be in a switched circuit somewhere -one that's only live when the ignition is on (sorry dunno your level of expertise)-.
You can btw remove the fusible links and just run straight wire, you'll just loose that extra level of protection.

the little white things i was talken about must be the conectors that connect the regular wire to the fuesable link. so thats not the prob i guess.

im just gona run fuesable link from those wires to the starter all over. and see if that is the prob... if the links were fried they would be burnt though right??? none of them are.

where are the grounds for the alt, i can check and see if they are the prob if i knew where they were.

Did you do this? Just because they look fine doesnt mean they are, they can degrade on the inside.
