eventually at like 3/4 throttle, the ticking is so fast there is no more ticking
at idel there is no ticking....
i have no idea what this is coming from.

i don't think its an exhaust leak... because if that was it, the ticking would get louder at higher RPMs.... the noise goes away at high RPMs on my car.... if it is the valves..... how would one solve that?

Check your EGR solenoid. Just unplug it and see if the ticking stops. It's located near the EGR valve on the back passenger side of the intake manifold.

Probably a rocker arm... take off your oil filler cap and see if it gets a little louder. If it does, it is a rocker, and its on that side. If nothing on that side, roll up a peice of paper, put one end on the other valve cover and listen through the other end. It should be obvious if there is an 'off' rocker in there somewere by using these methods.

Lifters. Try doing an oil flush and get some new oil

I will pretty much guarantee its either lifters or rockers. Im leaning to lifters. Go get some ATF and add .5L or so to your engine oil. Drive it for half hour and do an oil change. The lifters get sticky and fouled with dirt etc. and the ATF has detergents that break this down. Try this or buy an engine oil cleaner and repeat as neccesary. I had to do it 3 times on my old motor and worked great. We still do it at the dealership I work at.

ATF = automaitc transmission fluid. Believe it, it works.

But that's probably not your problem... you probably have an exhaust leak where the exhaust manifold bolts to the head. Tighten the bolts.

Try the trans fluid thing though, you won't believe how much black gunk that used to be all in your motor will come out in your oil the first time.
