As Ed advised, verify the ignition components, air filter, fuel pressure (pump and filter), and clean teh throttle body - including the idle air control and its air passages. Set the minimum air position and check the TPS voltage to make sure it is within the specification. A '91 should have a non-adjustable TPS, so the TPS voltage should be at 1.0VDC or less in the closed throttle position.

Once that is done, you hesitation should be minimal, or you will at least have verified the necessary systems are working correctly so that you can perform some serious troubleshooting.

Re: My TPI falls on its face

i got an issue. My GTA was going fine, but then all of a sudden, i could accelerate fine til I tried WOT, and it just lost all power. In park, i can rev it up, but when i git to around 4000 RPM, it just starts to bog and lose power, i let off and it goes back to normal idle. Now mind you it sat up for about 5-6 years, i replaced the fuel pump, sending unit, had a fuel system cleaned, it has been running like a top like i never parked it.
All this happened when i got to take my daughter out in it for the 1st time . At least she got to git slapped back after a hard 2nd gear scratch.

i got no check engine light on so dont know what to look for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: My TPI falls on its face

Check your injectors. I had three bad ones and it would bog around 4000 in park.
