no joke Where does the fuel go ? trouble shooting prob
I always wanted a tpi now its biting me in the a** . I cant seem to visibly see where the fuel comes up from the underside of the car . Being 6'1 @ 200lb i dont nessicarily fit under the car either . What happend is that i was going down the road and the car just died nothing narrowedit down to a fuel problem . if you fog the tb w/ gas it will run shortly . so if some one can help me with the working of the fuel delivery sys I would greatly appreciate it .any probable common fixes or similar problems would be app.
Edit : forgot to mention the fuel filter was the first thing I checked , turned key on and it dumped fuel all over my buddies yard.

It sounds like your fuel pump is either not coming on or not pumping. When you switch the key on(without trying to start the car) can you hear the pump run for a few seconds? If not it may be an electrical problem. If it is running you will need to check to see if you have fuel pressure at the engine.
You should have two lines coming up from the frame rail on the drivers side of the engine bay. One is the pressurized line from the pump and the other is the return line that goes back to the tank.

Be sure that the fuel system has about 35 PSI at idle and 43.5 PSI at idle with the vacuume hose to the fuel pressure regulator disconnected.

Look and see if the fuseable link is blown. It was next to the battery in between the battery and radiator. Note: battery on passenger side. Also, a bad fuel filter will not let a car start if it is clogged really bad.

It sounds like you have some pressure. Are you sure it was not residual fuel that your filter spewed out? And how did you discount the filter other than fuel being present? Also how did you discount the MAF? I would look to these two things. You can eliminate the pump itself by powering it up thru the ALDL. I believe it's terminal 'G' you apply 12v and listen for the pump. (your car was set up for TPI right? or did you convert? If so, did you swap lines and pump?) Also to discount the MAF, unplug it and try to start the car. If it starts, it's something in the MAF circuit. Remember, now that you have released pressure in your fuel system it wil take a few seconds to crank up the pressure throughout. Let us know.

While I was under there I went ahead and replaced the fuel filter ; With no filter at all I turned on the key and had fuel flow.
The only way the car will run is if I spray gas into the throttle body , it doesnt nessicarily purr due to the unmetered fuel but it runs if I keep spraying it keeps running w/ or w/ out the maf hooked up .
Explain more about the fusable link I dont know what that is . thats as far as I have gotten due to the local of my baby and the long under paid hours I work for uncle sam .
also if I push on the test port on the fuel runner there is fuel present , in theory if the problem was before the runners would it suck them dry or cause a vacum lock . is there a way to test my injectors at all .Thanks for the help.

Ok, so you have fuel at the rail. Now, was this a conversion from carb or TBI to TPI? If so did you swap out the fuel pump and lines? Yes? Ok, next step is to test your fuel pressure, and make sure you have strong spark. If you get a chance pull your ignition module and get it tested when you go to the parts store for the fuel pressure gauge. Let us know the pressure.

I say your ECM is fried. You know, the computer. It sends a batch fire signal to open the injectors on each side independently so the left bank will fire then the right. If you have fuel pressure that is because I highly doubt you have eight bad fuel injectors.
You can check the ECM output by hooking a test light to the fuel injector connector and chank the engine, the light should flash quickly.
