i use a 12v external fuel pump from NAPA and connect it to a battery. just slide a hose into the tank and the outlet into a fuel jug.

Sure you can, you don't use your lungs to suck.

The auto parts stores carry a cheap siphoning pump, it's a tube with a squeeze bulb on it, I think it's a couple of bucks.

Any chance you could disconnect the fuel line at the filter and power the pump up?

Hmmm good idea. (using the pump to drain the tank)

Im pulling it because Im stripping the fuel system for a moter swap Im doing, plus im having the 1/4 section replaced. Sparks+Vapor=bad mojo.

Now its a 95 so I will need to know what wires start the pump so I can run 12V to them. Most of the wires are gone, and the car is mostly stripped (like I said MAJOR MOTOR SWAP )

And how do I suck without my lungs, lmao!

Those spihon pump things take forever to drain gas. An old garden hose with one of the metal ends cut off works the best. (The metal end will not fit down the filler tube). I would suggest getting someone else to siphon by mouth. If you use the entire garden hose, theres pretty much no chance of getting any gas in your mouth, and hardly any fumes.

Well if you don't have an abundance of crackheads meandering around your area lol, you can put most of the length of the hose in the tank, seal your thumb over the end of the hose, pull it out real fast and let go...

After chowing down on some texaco hi-test years ago, a friend showed me how the pros do it. Put a rhose in the tank fill, cram a rag around the hose to seal it, and BLOW, not suck. The idea is to pressurize the tank, after that lower the hose to below the tank fuel level to keep it going. I've also done this with an air compressor and blow gun instead of by mouth.

I'd just drop the tank and dump the extra fuel. You figure it weighs only about 100 lbs full it should be a piece of cake!

actually if you fill the hose with gasoline first while keeping your finger in one end then sticking the other in the tank and drop the other in a jug real quick it will start its own siphon
