I just put em on a stock L98 last weekend. It has an SLP catback and no cats with stock manifolds. It made no additional lope.

Ive got full dual open exhaust headers ect........and like I said it made an ever so slight slight slight lope. I know stock stang 302's have 1.6 rockers in them and if you put 1.7 in them its sounds like ya threw a cam in them, the principle of why changing rockers is what I want to know, why do they do that

I mean like going from stock 1.6 to 1.7 in a stang.....almost seems like it changes the cams profile.. feels like it did in my 350, I went from the stock 1.5 to 1.6 and it seemed to make some kind of a differance.....wondering why changing the rockers lift feels like ya put a mediokercam in

It does have a very tiny effect on the effective duration of the cam. But not enough to make it lope when it wasn't before, I'd look to see if you set something wrong.

the 1.6 rockers open the valves a little faster and farther. instead of multiplying your lobe lift by 1.5 to get valve lift multiply it by 1.6.

it basicly makes it act like a larger cam too

the duration at .050 changes with 1.6 rockers, because it get to .050 faster and seeming adds duration.

But none of the stock cams should lope w/ 1.6. Is it a lope or a slight miss?

Maybe the valves are hitting the pistons just kiddin...yea your not going to get a hole lot of additional duration from the change, but the higher ratios rockers well cause increase valve acceleration, among other things. These things can be a little tough on a stock valve train. Then you have to consider if the stock heads can benefit from the increased lift.

I agree that you should double check your adjustments, and maybe your timing also...
