Update on Fusible Link / No Crank Situation

Happy day today! :lala:

I think I have finally fixed the no crank, no guages, etc problem, that I posted about a week ago.

I have a 16 awg wire hooked up in place of the fusible link that blew. Everything is working again. I hope it lasts. I started it up in the garage 3 times, let it run for about 2 minutes. So far, so good.

I can't find a 16 awg fusible link anywhere, just 14 awg, but I suppose a plain 16 awg wire will work too.

Thanks for the help.

I'd put in the 14 fusable link, if you can't find a 16...as opposed to running a hardwire.

Problem could reoccur, and take out not just that wire, but melt all insulation/wiring it comes in contact with.

Yeah, but the 2 red wires that connect to the fusible link are also 14 awg, I think, and then I'd have no protection if I ran a 14 awg FL.
