What is the best tool for cutting sheet metal?
I plan on cutting the sheet metal underneath the louvers on the hood of my Trans Am, to make them functional. What tool do you think would best accomplish this job?

Make sure there's something to cut... I had that hood once, and from what I remember, there was just structural support stuff there.
You could use a "nibbler", or a dremel (battery powered grinder) with a small cutting wheel. The smaller diameter the wheel, the easier it will be to cut carefully. The nibbler might be your best bet; I don't know any other place besides Radio Shack that sells them. The Eastwood Company http://www.eastwoodco.com carries some, but they're more expensive than the Radio Shack uniit- the Eastwood ones are better quality tho!

definatelyuse the nibbler. its easy to use, accurate and very quick. i cut the the entire quarterpanel on both sides out of my car in under 15 minutes
i'll vote for the nibbler too, but if you can't get one a saber saw and a metal blade works pretty good. use masking tape to protect any finish you don't want to mess up.
