Name that wire!

Anyone know what the blue wire with the little black stripe down it does? Its in the motor compartment right next to that silver canister for the A/C (In a loom with other wires) on the pass side firewall. It goes on when I turn the key on, so I spliced into it for a relay (Just to run the relay on the fan, not to draw the power) but it stopped working, then after a few times of turning the car on and off, it will start working again. I'm hoping its nothing for the computer, and I didn't just damage something.

Thanks,

Chris

Also, if the car runs fine now, and it ran fine while that wire was hooked up, I couldnt have damaged the computer or aynthing right? This is my first EFI car. Im used to my 69 Cougar, and cars like it.

Thanks again

so, u spliced a wire so the A/C doesnt come on when u turn the
car on? why u ask about THAT wire in question?

Can u be more specific?

What is ur goal?

No, I spliced a wire in the loom NEAR the A/C canistar, to turn the relay on (Not draw the power to run it) for the coolant fan. The wire was blue with a black stripe down it. When I turned the car on, the fan would work, but take a little time to start, then sometimes it wouldn't run, so I checked the wire, and the wire stopped working, but after a few more starts of the car, the wire started working again (The one in the loom) so to play it safe, I fixed the wire, back to factory.

The question is, does anyone know what wire that is? And what it does? And, could I have hurt anything like the computer or something by splicing into it? Even though I didn't use it to draw the power to run the relay, rather turn it on.

Thanks

Wire goes into the throttlebody, but I still don't know what it does.
