How to break in a new hydraulic roller cam?

Well I should be getting my car running again this weekend with the new cam and ported intake. It's the LPE 219 cam and I just wanted to know the proper break in procedure. The engine isn't new, only the cam.

Thanks

No break-in required; change the oil after a few hundred miles.

I agree, just change the oil after a few hundred miles. As long as everything was prelubed properly you should be fine.

they "say" to run the engine at around 2 rpm for 20 mins to break in a cam, i say they are silly =]

Just lube the lobes of the cam and don't forget to shoak your lifters in oil to charge them before you install them

that's for a flat tappet, not a roller

Yup, 2-2.5 grand for 1/2 hour is for a regular cam, not a roller.

A roller is basically Plug and Play for a fdew hundred miles if you prelube it right.

Thanks. Unfortunately I didn't get everything back together yet. Damned Super Ram is still a PITA to install even on the 4th time! I also had a hell of a time getting my plugs back in....I still can't get 2 of them tight. Tomorrow maybe I'll get everything all buttoned up after work. All I have left is the two plugs that aren't tight, cap and wires, fans, coolant, coil, and a header bolt that broke in the collector that I have to drill out. Oh yeah and then the great fun of setting the valves after!
