Same exact engine, what makes more power: TBI or TPI?

My engine is in my sig. What setup will give more power and at what rpm range? Consider a Modified TPI setup against a Holley 670TBI and TBI intake.

I was reading TPIS inside hints and they have many comparison charts which show stock and modified TPI making lots more low end power than carb. TBI would act similar to carb.

Scott,

Just my 2¢, but I'd guess you'll be better off with the TBI and shorter intake runners. Your stall speed and cam grind are going to want to run at higher RPMs, right where a TPI starts to get inefficient. TPI engines make more power at low RPMs, but your torque converter and 3.42 gearing have just taken that out of the equation.

The little bit you'll lose at the line (maybe) will more than be made up when your tach hits the 6's. With your gearing and converter, that won't take long. I just hope the transmission will handle the higher RPM shifts with the extra power. I'd be a bit surprised if you don't make 13's at 650' ASL.

Thanks Vader! I was hoping for an intelligent opinion and I got it. And you're right, I'm very concerned about the stock trans. A few 6000rpm shifts and it's rebuild time!
