What are the benifits to increasing crank size?
I'm doing a motor swap and a person I work with told me to increase the crank size.
I know if you do this you can make a 350 into a 383, he said it would increase the torque and that all I would need to do is increase the crank size to do it.
is this true? to make my car a 383 do all I have to do is increase the crank size?
are there any downfalls to doing this?

i think either you or the guy you work with are leaving out some details. reading between the lines i beleive you mean to increase stroke and not really size. adding stroke adds cubic inches. it's a little more involved than just adding a "bigger crank".
