Electronic speedo swap, 110 to 145, what do I need???

I got the whole 145 gauge cluster and swapped it in, but the speedo didn't read correctly. It read 15 mph when I was really doing 35 or 40.
Do I need to change any of the speedo gears or anything like that?
I currently have 3.08 gears but will soon be switching to a 4th gen rear with 3.42's so if I need to swap any speedo gears I'd like to do it all at once.

Thanks.

IIRC, your '89 and '90 should both have an electic speedometer. If that's the case, you need whatever gearing will send the speedo head 4,000 pulses per mile from the VSS.

I might be wrong, though. Camaros may have changed from cable to electric in '90.

BTW - A '730 ECM should get 4,000 PPM. I believe you should have a '730 ECM in both those cars.

The '90 speedo is electronic. How do I know what gearing would send 4000 pulses?

scan through this page, it might save you alot of hell and thinking and trying wrong parts and gears when all you need to do is exactly what this box can do. Simply recalibrate your speedometer a bit. Check out the pdf instructions in there.

Thanks, I appreciate the suggestion. I'd prefer to fix this problem without spending $80 though so I'll save this as a backup idea right now.
