Good tuning instrument?
Is an air fuel ratio gauge a good carb tuning nstrument? im looking into getting the dakota digital one. http://www.dakotadigital.com/Detail....er=ODYR-13-2-C
It requires a 3-wire o2 sensor. since im running true duals, could i put one in each pipe, and put in a switch to change between left and right? also, what are the 3 wires on the o2 sensor for., any help is appreciated, thanks

Eyes Ears Mouth and Nose. NO fingers though.
seriouselly black smoke out the tail pipe or crispy white plugs dont tell you somthing then theres somthing wrong.
of course what happens when you smell it running rich but the plugs are white as lean?
Do some research, and you'll find that your running so lean its causing a mis-fire which causes the rich smell. interesting eh?
the point is, there is no magical tuning device. although widebands are coming down in price and becoming more practical, the average home user still cant afford one when that money would be better spent elsewhere, in most simply carbeurated N/A cases this is.
Just use the force and you'll be fine.

A vaccum gauge does wonder whens tuning a carb. Go to advance and get a vaccum guage, plug it into a vac line on your carb and tune for highest vaccum. It does wonders. I put a vaccum gauge on mine which was pulling 15lbs after the cam swap...managed to lean it down quiet a bit and now its pulling 21lbs of vaccum.
car runs perfect. Still runs slighly rich in the secondaries but Id have to adjust the jets to fix that.

A vacuum guage is one of the best and cheapest tools you can buy. It's a good aid until you learn hear the difference an adjustment makes.
