Will this combo withstand atleast 450 hp?

Keith Black Hypereutiectic Pistons
Scat 9000 Crank
Scat 4340 I-beams

Also are Total Seal Rings worth the $123?

It should as long as the crank is forged, and the engine is balanced and built properly.

The 9000 series cranks are not forged, but cast steel. According to Scat, the crank is good to 600hp and 7500 rpm, the rods you mentioned are rated at 650hp and 8000rpm. So to answer your question, yes.

I bought a 91 Z that an eagle crank similar to the scat 9000 series. That scat could be better but the eagle crank almost cost me the whole engine. The crank ended up flexing under the 500 crank hp over several 1000 miles. This led to lost oil pressure and burnt up bearings and a couple of rods. I really think you'll be okay with the scat crank to 450 hp, but I wouldn't test it when you start adding more hp onto that. I was running this same scat crank in my 383/219/AFR/SR combo before I sold it. I never took it past 5600rpm but it worked good. I also made the mistake of using the stock 400 rods. Definitely get those rods you have listed they're very good. I guess the main question is what do you plan on spinning your engine to?

If a stock L98 can hold 450 than there is no reason that those parts shouldn't hold 450 either. I'm pushing slightly over 450hp at the crank on a stock L98. You just need somebody to build it right. Luckily - the guys working the GM assembly line on the day that my motor was built were doing things right.

Why? For both statements. I have total seal in my nitrous motor.

I thought scat made pretty good stuff?

Deffenitely not saying your wrong, just asking why.

Thanks everyone. Will keep the comments in mind. When I build this engine, I might use a forged crank and forged pistons to be safe.

well free i'm not saying i'm right either. just a few horror stories about scat parts is enought to keep me away from them. as for the gapless rings i just don't think they're needed, i would use them on a power adder application

shouldn't be a problem holding up. i won't buy scat anymore though due to customer service being one of the worst i've ever dealt with.

Good idea.

Trax, remember, Scat castings aren't exactly the quality of the Generals.
