Dumb question: what the heck are siamesed cylinders?

I keep hearing people say the 400 has siamesed cylinders - what the hell is that? I have also heard of siamesed runners for TPI. Same thing??? One guy told me that a 400s cylinder walls arent thinner than a 350s because of he siamesed cylinders. I find this hard ot belive since the bore is bigger, and the block is the same size.

the cylinders are connected to each other. the water jacket doesn't go completely around the cylinder.

The term siamezed runners refers to the fact that pairs of runner tubes are connected through part of their length by cutting away the thin wall between them. The stock runners on a TPI system are all individual tubes, which gives an overall runner length of roughly 17 inches. By connecting pairs of runner tubes together, this length is reduced slightly and the plenum volume is increased slightly. Both of these changes tend to increase the upper rpm flow capability of the runners.

??

I thought Ede did an adequate job of answering Ward's question regarding the definition of siamesed cylinders. I thought that I would answer his question regarding siamezed runners.
